Proposed Variation (Proposed Variation No.1) to the
Roscommon County Development Plan 2022 – 2028
Pursuant to Section 58 of the Planning and Development Act 2024 (as amended) Roscommon County Council has prepared a Proposed Variation (Proposed Variation No.1) to theRoscommon County Development Plan 2022 – 2028. This Proposed Variation No. 1 is primarily in response to ‘The National Planning Framework - First Revision 2025’ and the ‘NPF Implementation – Housing Growth Requirements’ (Section 28 Guidelines).
The Proposed Variation No. 1 is accompanied by a Strategic Environmental Assessment Environmental Report, Screening for Appropriate Assessment Report and an Addendum Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) Report (i.e. an addendum to the original SFRA of the current Roscommon County Development Plan 2022-2028).
All documentation will be available to view during the period Friday 5th June 2026 to 4:00pm Monday 6th July 2026

Written submissions or observations in respect of the Proposed Variation No. 1 and associated documents may be made to the Planning Authority during the period Friday 5th June 2026 to 4:00pm Monday 6th July 2026.
Written submissions or observations should be clearly marked ‘Proposed Variation No.1 to the Roscommon County Development Plan 2022-2028’ and must be submitted by one medium only i.e. either:

The closing date for submissions is 4:00pm, Monday 6th July, 2026.
Emailed or Late Submissions will not be accepted
Please note:
- It is intended that all valid submissions received by the Council shall be published on the dedicated development plan website www.rosdevplan.ie within 10 working days of receipt. This is an open and public process, therefore your submission (in part or in total) will be available to view online.
- All submissions should include your name and address, and where relevant, details of any organisation, community group or company etc., which you represent. To assist Roscommon County Council in complying with data protection legislation, you are asked to provide this information on a separate sheet.
